He was very dissapointed at the vault, his career died for a few years after that. :sad

He made his mark at Willowbrook in NY, the state Mental Institution?

I think the name is wrong.

What is the news saying anyone?

Not much on MSNBC, Fox has Gretta on and she is just rambling.

I thought the storm wasn't supposed to reach land until 4 or 5 in the morning.

I'm sorry. the strand in Galveston. it's a cool place to be, a historic area. the wall, is built up behind it. every year, they turn the strand into a charles dickens christmas theme. THE strand. (strand refers to a boardwalk type area - Myrtle Beach has a strand too)

My friend ended up at another friend's home, on the other side of Houston. She was afraid to try anything further. She was afraid of running out of gas and the heat was too hard on her dogs. Recall that we are also experiencing record breaking heat across Texas as well. In this humidity it is horrible.

Thanks, and I'm glad your friend found a safehouse.

Bard, I forget you don't have cable. Let me explain a bit. THE Strand (as is known to every Texan) was built after the hurricane in Galveston in 1900 (sometime in September I believe). The WORST catasrtophe in US history. Bigger than the San Francisco earthquake and fire.

However, the weird things. The Strand was rebuilt in 1905. 100 years ago. I distinctly recall the Dickens thing because I've been there for it. But I'm now remembering they also have a Mardi Gras.

THE Strand is primarily made of wood buildings. The electric lines and transformers are falling and starting fires. A conflict of history and technology.
