The love I lost a long time ago

Never left my sole or being

The life I had there after

Had so little meaning

Trapped in the vortex

Of that uncontrollable loss

The pain was so unbearable

Like being nailed to a cross

Time canít heal the wounds

Of a heart forever broken

That can only happen

When defining words are spoken

Itís been thirty odd years

Since we went our separate ways

The memories off that time

As vivid as the sunís rays

The intensity of this feeling

Has never let me lose hope

Of someday reconnecting

And learning how to cope

You explained to me the reasons

Of which I was unaware

The fear was deep inside you

Too much for you to bare

Now that this is over

I welcome you back in my heart

The times we missed together

Will inspire us to never part

I will always love you forever

No matter what to toll

The thought of loosing you again

Will break my living soul

Bravo.

Poetry is the pathway to the under-heart of man, and very underpinnng of soul

One cannot do it wrong, when penned in earnest, its essance and scent, that will always be attractive to those of us who applaude honesty in character and heart

Well done, lovely piece.
