I am taking a few minutes off. I have been rather busy. Just finished 1 job, have to finish another by this Friday. Live and learn...I said I would ship everything out for the company (over 300 packages with each job) if they were just labeled generically. They said OK...but then it's "oh can you add these cover letters, can you put special stickers on each FedEx box, oh these people have to have their stuff personally addressed." Next time, the price goes way up if they want me to ship as well. Poor me... :stonekick

Yeah bikerbabe I used to go and it can get loud. Our seats were pretty good, we got them indirectly from the father of one of the drivers (the driver is one of the TV announcers now). One of the guys we went with was a full time pit crew member with that driver years before so he'd get him to stop over to our campsite once in a while and visit. I didn't follow the sport much before that time period and not too much since then actually, but it really was a good time, better than you'd think. LOL

I suppose it's not nearly as exciting as jumping out of planes though, is it "Plant"?

Basca - - - See? There's a lot about me that people don't know and I just LOVE that! I don't give away ALL my secrets. I :ohwell I've been into NASCAR for the past few years - our middle son has dreams of being a stock car racer one day so he really got us involved. We have season tickets to the CA Speedway and spend the entire weekend there. We are fortunate to have NASCAR come twice a year - Feb and Sept - whereas others have to travel quite a distance. We've been in a grand funk over here waiting for the season to begin again and it's oficially here tonight with the Budweiser Shootout. YAY and DOUBLE YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now - to answer you question: NO - no mullet! NEVER! NEVER! NEVER! will happen. Yes, it's loud but that just adds to the excitement. We're really looking forward to the Feb events.

Bard - CA Speedway is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy better than the Ontario ever was! Even Wolfgang Puck is setting up shop for people to enjoy his cuisine. That should say somethin' (now, be nice . . .) Don't knock it until you try it . . . :)

Basca - one more thing: I've even been able to like country western music. Now THAT'S more of a surprise to my friends than being a NASCAR junkie. Go figure! I'm sure my classically-oriented friends in Carmel would faint at the thought. They almost died of embarrassment when I told them I was venturing into the world of jazz. OY VAY!

Here I am, Omega! Just HAD to finish the Budweiser Shootout. Man - what a ride! I was so touched by what Tony Stewart did for Denny Hamlin. I actually cried - it really touched me. Tony has changed SOOOOOOOOO much - what a great guy! And to see the reaction from Denny's parents - that's when I really caught the sacrifice they've made for his career.

Now, this #5 kid, Kyle - son of a Busch (yes - the spelling is correct for those who aren't familiar with his last name) - - - I would NOT want to be him. Imagine - getting Tony Stewart, Mark Martin, and Dale Jr. upset with you at the same time. I hope this isn't indicative of how the 2006 season will go. I know Kyle won here at the CA Speedway last Sept - was I ever bummed!!!!!!!!!! I wish he'd just go away . . . 'nuff said for now. ewwww....

So, Omega, who do you pick to win the Daytona? Of course I choose Michael Waltrip. He's a family favorite . . . and did he ever prove himself today! Can't wait for next week.

Not one ounce of remorse from him - and what was that bump-drafting in pit lane and to his own teammate, no less ???!!?!?!?!?!?! I'd like to slap their arrogant little faces, and believe me, if they were my sons I'd do it along with making them realize how fortunate they are to be in the position they are. We're making auction baskets of "family stuff" and I thought it would be neat to have some baseball trivia included so I'm making up a booklet of facts, stats, and quotations along with some historical info. WOW! My brain is on overload. We love the DODGERS here (always have) and I thought I knew a lot about baseball (well, enough to sound at least half-way intelligent) but now I realize that the more I learn the more I know that I don't know (or something like that!). So I took a break to find out what's been going on here.

Our weather has turned more winter-like. We're having some cold winds and are expecting some rain this weekend. Guess that will be our winter . . . hmmmmmmmmm.............. Not much I suppose. But it's So Cal - what can I say??????

I LOVE those pictures of all the guys on the main board. Whew - about took my breath away!!!!

Of course I watched the Daytona 500!! My Jr. didn't win but I was happy he was in the top ten. It's good to see him running up front for a change. I don't know what the hell happened to Tony, it seemed as if his "badboy" persona kept popping up. I'm just happy racing season is back and I'm looking forward to Calif.

Yeah BB is was cold, real cold but it's 32 and sunny today. Definitely wasn't riding weather here. You know that I'd do my best to make you right and her wrong whenever I can. Proving basca wrong is the easy part, I don't have to do anything to make that happen, she does that all by herself.
