Memories clothed in simplistic garb
Flashing like lightning
Thunderous rage
Each memory a page

Innocence & purity
Erased in a breath
Outrage and indignance
Laughter & jest

Ballparks and Sundays
Soft summer afternoons
Dreams of glimmer
Caged in small rooms

Each bead a year
The necklace does grow
From the river to the cabin
They line up in a row

The parade of time
That once moved so slow
Now races and hastens
The end of the show
