I Remember Love

Yes, I knew her once
yes, of love I now
both profess and do speak
I tasted her essence
and drank of her pure
as she stretched
herself out upon
the very lining
of my heart
so trusting
and rare
sprawling and elegant
was her
tumble to time
arrayed in such
never tasted
prior in time
ah yes, think not I pray
that I've forgotten the passion
that once burned and blazed
in the loins of my heart
for erased never
shall the memory stay
fresh beyond fresh
as she kissed me each day
the entrance of love
oh yes,
I remember the day
my heart leaped
like a bunny
all painted in glee
and soared in the heavens
prior distant to me
the thorn that did burden
my virgin heart of then
was, I knew such a grand thing
could never yes stay
I sadly pronounce
that my fears were yes real
for it vanished in traced memory
like it never was real
but memory
still serves me
the notion and scent
left lingering upon heart
that love yes was real
I then was awoken
now old, on yes in years
a teardrop I felt
hugged closely my eye
as I remembered the year
the glimmer standing tall
then the fall
yes the fall
so dramatic all in all
that stole such a thing
away, from yes, me
'twas it a memory or
I fumble now a bit
'twas a dream
no a memory
I watched it
then flee.....
