SPRING
I walk among the fields so fair,
From which an essence fills the air,
To envelope me in smells so sweet.
A flash of hues for me to keep,
A memory for the inner self.
Hands caress each bloom so rich,
In intricate design of which,
I wonder in its inspiration,
Who held sway in its creation
To bless us with its being.
T'is a cold dark winter day,
And memories flood back to say
Come over to the fields so fair
Roam among the blossoms there.
Where pleasant thoughts abound.
