It is less than a 10 minute walk from my house, although I stopped there on my way home Sunday from traveling around taking the final pics of the foliage season, at least for this area. Rain during last night and the next day or so will kill off the foliage around here. I imaginge you're getting some as well, cuz.

Thinking about southwest NH and/or western Mass/CT this weekend, maybe have a chance at a little more.

Meanwhile, this is the view from my mom's backyard Sunday afternoon...

Fantastic photo Stray!

I am here to testify to the fantastic works of modern medicine. My DH had developed a heart murmur. After two years of getting tests, opinions and more tests he decided it was time for a heart valve replacement. They call it a "procedure" they don't crack the chest if you qualify for a TAVR....they insert a catheter into the femoral artery and insert an organic valve into the non functioning valve. He went in last Monday and was released on Wednesday of the same week. "Drive through surgery"! He does have a Visiting Nurse and a Physical Therapist coming to the home. He's doing very well...just going a little bonkers because he cannot drive until November 8.

Happy Halloween!

Hi Calli, glad to hear that your husband is doing well. They are doing great things these days! I don't doubt that not being able to drive is driving him crazy LOL.

Lost power for about a day in the storm that blew thru Sunday night, but other than a dead tree coming down at the end of my yard I had no damage. Neighbor up the street wasn't so lucky, he had a big assed tree come down on his house busted the roof in in the main section, the corner of the addition, and to add insult to injury it landed on his RV.

Oh, I feel for your neighbor. I am fearful of all the old growth behind and beside our house. We've had many trees removed...burned most of them in the wood stove. But there is one giant ancient oak and several maples that worry me.

We had 1/2 of a tree fall on our car when Sandy roared through. We were able to get it fixed, but what a mess the clean up was...insurance doesn't cover tree removal UNLESS it is blocking public access...

I'm driving DH to the Library, Bank, Lunch out, and grocery shopping today. Oh, joy...I get to listen to him tell me when to stop, watch out for that car turning, your too close to the side of the road, your too close to the center, pull in here, go left there....I may not bring him home, just drop him off and.....change the locks.

Looks like we got a cold spell coming for Friday into Saturday. NE temps to be 20+ below normal... brrrrrrrrr....... that's gonna be hard to take after the warm fall season we've had.

Good news! We are living in a great age of medicine. We're very fortunate to live in these times. Hope your DH continues to improve!

While we've not seen any snow here where I live (unless they had a flurry while I was away Friday) I was up north a bit on Friday and was in and out of snow all afternoon. They were making snow at Wildcat Mtn Ski Area and others, I understand the opened Wildcat yesterday.

Here is a picture I took while up on Evan's Notch Road of some snow passing by to the west of where I was.
